Livingston may be the Gateway to Yellowstone, but take a short 30-minute drive down the road to explore the Museum of the Rockies. This Smithsonian Affiliate museum has been recognized as one of the top research and history museums in the world and even counts a full-scale T. Rex skeleton, known as Big Mike, in its vast collection.
Current exhibits include Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World where you can see more than 60 guitars and play the world's largest guitar; sneak a peek at the people who made this area what it is at the Welcome to Yellowstone Country exhibit; or experience the past yourself at the Living History Farm. Catch one of the museum's shows, such as SEEING: A Photon's Journey Across Space and Mind and Faster than Light, at the Taylor Planetarium. If you want to explore even further, take in an educational event, like Hops & History or the MOR Family Days.
